OMG, my baby is two!!! That's right... T...W...O! How did that happen?????? It really was only yesterday morning that we found out I was pregnant, yesterday after noon he was born and last night when he turned one!
We have had such a rollercoast with everything involving Hamish and many a day I wondered how I would get through the next 5 minutes so I can't even begin to imagine how I got through two years!
I remember the day I found out I was pregnant, we had been to the doctor the week before because my period was late but 4 pregnancy tests all came up negative and I had been for a blood test to find out what was happening but I was sure there was no way I could be pregnant after almost 2 years of official trying, I had all but given up hope.
I rang the doc on the day I was told but was informed the results weren't back so the doc would ring me when they came in. The next day was spent on tenderhooks as everyone waited for the dreaded phonecall.
Finally, the phone rang and it was Dr. Raja. Here we go, I though bring it on, I can handle any bad news you send my way... look's like you need more Iron Mel, if you can start on a good Fe-Fol supplement straight away that would be good, also get more red meat as that will help too... how has your week been? And on she went for almost 10 minutes, chatting like we were old friends, meanwhile I am on the other end thinking "I don't care, get on with it!!!" Finally she stops and says "Oh, BTW, you are definitely pregnant" and then continues on with her chatter... I have no idea what she said after that because I about fainted finally hearing those words! We had done it, we were going to have another baby!!!!
I hang up from her and straight away the phone rings again, I am half expecting it to be the doc saying "Ha, Ha, tricked you!" but it was my friend waiting to hear how it went, I hadn't even rung Steve yet but I couldn't hold it and had to tell someone so after we had laughed and cried for a while I got on the phone to Steve at work and he was over joyed too and from there my world has never been the same since!
Hamish entered the world almost a month after his original due date and weighing in at 9 pound 6 he was a chunky monkey with a head to match (39.5 cms) and even through all the hard times, meds and sleepless nights he has always managed to put a smile on my face and bring a ray of sun into the darkest of days.
Happy Birthday little Man, I hope your day is wonderful!!! I love you more than words!
