You save me

So, in the lives of everyone else in the world, today is just another day. Just a day among days all marching along and not too different to each other. Today I had an eye surgeon appointment (Pappiloedema is going down, which means shunt is doing it's job! YAY!) and a hair dresser's appointment (The hairdresser managed to disguise my bald patch and I only look slightly man-like) and an ultrasound appointment (I don't have gallstones, YAY, but have to wait to find out any other results) and a phone call from my husband.

For the first time in years my gorgeous husband remembered to wish me a happy anniversary. Perhaps he was feeling guilty after forgetting it last year, I don't know but it meant the world to me. We aren't the most romantic, lovey dovey couple in the world, we don't buy presents or even a card we don't go out to dinner or really acknowledge the day at all except for a Happy Anniversary when we remember but I know and he knows that without each other life would be harder, less bright, less worthwhile. having that knowledge is all the gift I need.

We have been together 10.5 years and married for 8 years today. We have made it through 3 pregnancies and births. We have made it through many sleepless nights and early mornings. We have made it through plenty of sickness and plenty of health. We have made it through years of no money when I was staying home with the children and he was a manager at McDonalds. We have made it through 5 years of him working away. We have made it through with my health problems. We have had horribly hard times when neither of us knew if we would still be together tomorrow and we have had amazingly good times where neither of us could imagine life without the other. We have had ups and we have had downs we have had fantastic memories and plenty of dreams for the future and we have done it all together.

Steve, I am so proud to be your wife and am so proud we beat all odds of marrying so young and although we have many years of ups and downs ahead I know we will make it because You Save Me.

Love you now and forever,

Mel

Great news on the medical stuff and the hair! I bet you don't really look like a man even vaguely.

Congratulations on your wedding anniversary. Your post is lovely.
