I am so flat out at the moment so have been letting the blog slip a bit, sorry! I had a major assignment for one unit due last Sunday and one for the other unit due this Monday so have been working my bum off getting those done. Between them and the kids on school holidays it means I haven't had a lot of "me" time lately!
All is as good as can be expected here, Steve has come and gone for another week. His sleep study has been done and next time he is home he is back to the GP for the results. He had blood tests and turns out he has one of the two genes needed for Hemocromatosis. From what we know his Nonno has it and it is a hereditary disease, it means his body has too high an amount of Iron stores so he will initially have to give blood once a month and needs an ultrasound to make sure his liver hasn't been damaged from it. The irony is not lost on me, the amount of time in my life that I am Anaemic and there is my husband with too much Iron, typical huh! LOL
Kids are all good, tee-ball is going well. Makenzie had her first training session last week, she was a bit sooky about it and didn't want to go over at first but I think she will be happier to go today as the coach gave them each a lollipop at the end! LOL Jessie has been switched to a new team as there was a lot more kids than expected so they have taken 2 children from each team to make a new team. Jess is happy to change, the other one from her team who is moving is a boy from her class at school so she is happy with that :) Hamish has only had the one session, last week his coach got called to work so it had to be cancelled but hopefully that was only a once off :)
I am doing okay, still not much to report, head is still hurting and I am now on so many meds I think I might rattle when I walk, none of which are actually helping anything but I am trying to keep my chin up and deal with it. My GP gave me the numbers of two Neurologists today and has agreed to me getting a second opinion about the Chiari, which is a good thing. Even if they can just help as far as managing the pain and dizziness then it is a good result.
House is going full steam ahead, the walls are half up (Photos on the other blog :) ) and it is all starting to look "house like"! LOL I have to try not to drive down there 100 times a week, I am trying to restrict it to once a week but it is so hard not going down every day because I want to see every little change! LOL
Think that is all for today, I really should be getting on with the assignment since Nayd is looking after the Chillens for me!
Till next time,
Mel
